Afghan plant exports locally made batteries to Arab markets-Xinhua

KABUL, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Afghanistan's western Herat province has exported its domestically produced batteries to Arab countries, the provincial government office announced in a statement on Monday. The Green Energy Plus plant has dispatched its fourth consignment of locally manufactured batteries, valued at 2 million U.S. dollars, to Arab states, according to the statement on Monday. Afghan authorities eradicate 106 acres of hashish crops in Takhar province-Xinhua

KABUL, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Counter-narcotics police have destroyed 106 acres of hashish crops across northern Afghanistan's Takhar province, the official Radio and Television of Afghanistan (RTA) reported late Saturday. The eradication operations targeted cultivation sites on the outskirts of Rustaq, Baharak, Ishkamish, Farkhar and Kalafgan districts, as well as areas surrounding the provincial capital, Taluqan, according to provincial police spokesman Naqibullah Masroor, who was quoted by RTA. Officials described the campaign as part of sustained efforts to eliminate illicit crop production in the region, stressing that operations will continue until Takhar is cleared of the drug threat. ■ Source link
