Libya bans exports of agricultural products, locally produced foodstuffs-Xinhua

TRIPOLI, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Libya's Minister of Economy and Trade Suhail Abu Shiha on Sunday issued a decision to regulate and control export operations, imposing a series of restrictions on the export and re-export of goods and products, according to a ministry statement. Under the decision, the export of all agricultural products is banned, with dates being the sole exception. The decision also bans the export of locally produced food products until domestic market conditions stabilize, and prohibits the re-export of all types of imported goods and products. The decision aims to regulate export operations and safeguard the availability of goods and products in the local market, the statement said. Mozambican president calls for stronger agricultural cooperation with China-Xinhua

MAPUTO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Mozambican President Daniel Chapo has called for stronger agricultural cooperation between Mozambique and China and expressed hope that the cooperation model of the Chinese-invested Wanbao rice farm could be expanded to other parts of the country. Chapo made the remarks Saturday while attending a wheat harvesting ceremony at the Wanbao rice farm in the southern province of Gaza. During the event, Chapo viewed displays of crops and seeds, including rice, wheat and maize, and learned about the farm's cooperation with local farmers.
