Quênia confirma primeiro caso de ebola; homem morreu após tratamento
O Ministério da Saúde do Quênia confirmou nesta terça-feira (6) o primeiro caso de ebola registrado no país. O homem recebeu tratamento médico, mas morreu na noite de segunda-feira (5).
A pasta considera o caso como importado, já que o paciente esteve na República Democrática do Congo, país que enfrenta um forte surto da doença.
Em nota, o ministério informou que o paciente, de nacionalidade queniana, morou na República Democrática do Congo ao longo dos últimos sete anos e apresentou os primeiros sinais de adoecimento há cerca de um mês, quando ainda estava no país, onde chegou a receber tratamento em diversos hospitais.
O homem chegou à Nairobi, capital do Quênia, no último dia 3. Ao buscar atendimento médico novamente, foi isolado.

NAIROBI, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Kenya on Tuesday confirmed its first imported case of Bundibugyo Ebola virus disease, one day after a man died in a Nairobi hospital, the country's health authorities said. The patient was a Kenyan citizen who had lived in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) for the past seven years, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale said in a statement.
