MADRID, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Two people died and another remained missing after torrential rains and flooding hit Spain's northeastern Catalonia region, authorities said on Sunday. In Tordera on the Costa Brava, a man was killed after a wall collapsed on him while he was clearing water from his bungalow at a campsite, Salvador Illa, president of the Generalitat, or Catalan regional government, said. "Unfortunately, we must report a fatality in Tordera," Illa said, urging people to exercise extreme caution and follow official instructions as severe weather conditions persisted.
