5 Indian nationals rescued after projectile hits Kuwait-flagged tanker in Strait of Hormuz-Xinhua

NEW DELHI, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Five Indian nationals were rescued after a Kuwait-flagged tanker was struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, officials said Saturday. "Earlier today, the Mission coordinated rescue of five Indian nationals on board the Kuwait-flagged tanker M T Kazimah III, struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz," the Indian Embassy in Oman said in a statement posted on social media. ISLAMABAD, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan on Saturday summoned the charge d'affaires of the High Commission of India in Islamabad to lodge a strong protest over the killing of two Pakistani civilians, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said. Two Pakistani civilians killed near Indian border, Pakistani sources say-Xinhua

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Two Pakistani civilians were killed and another was injured in firing by India's Border Security Force (BSF) near the border in Kasur district of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, Pakistani security sources said Friday. The sources said the three villagers had just moved a few steps beyond a border pillar when India's BSF personnel "opened fire on them without warning." None of the villagers was armed. The security sources said the incident constituted a violation of the agreement and standard operating procedures governing the Pakistan-India border. ■ Source link
