Alleged robbery-murder by U.S. Marine sparks outrage in Okinawa, Japan-Xinhua

TOKYO, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Japanese government lodged protests with the United States on Sunday over a murder case allegedly involving a U.S. Marine stationed in Japan's southernmost prefecture of Okinawa. Meanwhile, residents of Okinawa voiced anger, saying the presence of U.S. military bases and the Japanese government's inaction have allowed similar crimes to keep happening. Okinawa prefectural police on Sunday arrested a U.S. Marine on suspicion of robbing and murdering a local woman in the early hours of Saturday at a hotel in Naha City.
