The number of newly imported passenger car registrations here gained 6.3 percent from a year earlier to 34,904 in September, according to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association. NAIROBI, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- The development and adoption of emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) in Africa must be anchored in sound policy and legal guardrails to mitigate potential societal risks, telecom regulators said Monday. Speaking at a meeting of Africa's information and communications technology (ICT) regulatory bodies running through Friday in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, David Mugonyi, director-general of the Communications Authority of Kenya, noted that while AI has immense potential to transform economies, it also carries serious risks that require ethical deployment and oversight.
