WHO backs Kenya’s Ebola response after first imported case-Xinhua
NAIROBI, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Tuesday it is working closely with the Kenyan government to intensify control measures after Kenya confirmed its first imported case of Bundibugyo virus disease (BVD), in a patient who died at a Nairobi hospital on Monday night. In a statement issued in Nairobi, WHO said the Kenyan government is strengthening response coordination and case investigation while monitoring and listing contacts for enhanced disease surveillance. Screening at high-risk points of entry, clear risk communication and community engagement are at the core of the response, it said.
