ANKARA, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Türkiye's solar and wind power generation reached a record high in August, the Energy and Natural Resources Ministry said Tuesday, while renewable energy accounted for its highest share of total electricity generation since 2000 in the first eight months of the year. The ministry's data showed that Türkiye's combined solar and wind power generation reached 9.9 billion kilowatt-hours in August, the highest monthly level on record. TOKYO, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks rose Tuesday, with the Nikkei stock index ending above the 70,000 mark for the first time since early July as optimism about artificial intelligence- and semiconductor-related shares lifted investor sentiment. The benchmark 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 737.12 points, or 1.05 percent, from Monday at 70,683.98. The broader Topix index, meanwhile, finished 38.34 points, or 0.92 percent, higher at 4,183.56. Stocks tracked overnight advances on Wall Street, led by gains among technology shares, while falling crude oil prices spurred buying across a broad range of stocks, analysts said.
