India condemns attack on vessel in Black Sea-Xinhua

NEW DELHI, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- India on Tuesday condemned the recent attack on the ship MV Royad Mammadov in the Black Sea, which killed two foreign seafarers and injured some members of the crew. "India views these attacks on commercial shipping and seafarers with grave concern. The targeting of traffic in international waterways is severely undermining global commerce and welfare of people across the world. We continue to call for dialogue and diplomacy to bring an end to the ongoing conflicts," said the country's Ministry of External Affairs in an official statement. SANAA, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said Sunday evening that several explosions occurred near a vessel in the Red Sea off Yemen's western port city of Mocha. In a statement posted on social media platform X, the UKMTO said it had received a report of an incident 60 nautical miles south of Mocha. A tanker had observed several explosions in close proximity to the vessel. All crew members were reported safe, with no environmental impact reported, according to the statement.
