BRASILIA, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Voting in the first round of Brazil's 2026 presidential election officially began at 8 a.m. (1100 GMT) on Sunday, with polling stations across the country scheduled to close at 5 p.m. (0800 GMT). Initial results are expected to be announced within a few hours after the polls close. BiH holds general elections with biometric voting introduced for first time-Xinhua

SARAJEVO, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) held its 2026 general elections on Sunday, with voters electing three members of the BiH presidency and 42 members of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly. For the first time, biometric voter identification and ballot scanners are being used in the elections, with the measures aimed at strengthening election integrity, speeding up vote counting and improving the collection of election data.
